Blackwoods colours return on Percat Commodore for Tassie

Nick Percat’s Brad Jones Racing Commodore will once again field sponsorship from Blackwoods at the Tyrepower Tasmania SuperSprint.

The industrial firm joined as the South Australian’s primary sponsor for the season opening Adelaide 500, before mattress supplier Tempur came onboard at the Coates Hire Supercars Melbourne 400.

However, Blackwoods has stepped up its commitments and the striking orange and blue livery will return for the Symmons Plains round on April 6-8.

Percat will head to Tasmania after an impressive showing at Albert Park, where he scored two podium finishes.

“We head to Symmons Plains with a nice boost of confidence after the last couple of events,” explained Percat.

“Getting the podium results in Melbourne has been such a great reward for the team and all the efforts they’ve put in over the last couple of months.

“Everyone has been working incredibly hard to get to this point and the car is awesome.”

With Percat now sitting eighth in the championship, Brad Jones Racing will be hoping to capitalise on its momentum from the first two rounds and continue that form in Tasmania.

“BJR have traditionally been strong in Tasmania,” added Percat.

“It’s one of those circuits where the car needs to be perfect. You’ve only got a couple of corners to work with, so you need to get it right every time.

“It’s not like other tracks where you can try make up a little ground elsewhere if need be. There’s no room for error and no room to hide here.

“The results always show that, generally its only eight or so tenths between first and last here, so qualifying well here will be a big focus for us.”

Round 3 of the championship at Symmons Plains takes place from April 6-8.
